The Story of building Soin Primary School

You have seen many incredible updates regarding Bibles, Textbook Distribution, and Water, but one of the most incredible stories that has happened in Chembulet is the building of Soin Primary School in the Fall of 2017.

Soin Primary School is one of the network schools located in Chembulet, Kenya. In a network school, the goal is to give students a chance to have access to a quality education. We work WITH the community to do this through our Sponsorship Program. But before this school was built, the conditions were less than suitable for quality education. Tin walls & roofs made for loud sounds during the rain. Dirt and floors made the ground muddy and the uniforms dirty. Benches to sit on made it difficult for all the students to fit comfortably.

“The mud was so thick inside the classrooms, it was ripping the shoes off of our feet” Elisa – trip participant

In 2017, partners and donors connected to Chembulet and through the 410 Bridge came together with the community members to fund and build the Soin Primary School.

As you can see from these photos, we do not do programs and build buildings “FOR” a community. The 410 Bridge works on both sides of the bridge to Empower each other and build each other up. The community works with each other, with teams, and with the 410 Bridge to lift itself out of poverty. Soin Primary School is a perfect example of this.

Because of this building, students can now gain access to quality education in a facility that is safe, warm, and conducive to learning. And these students will look to their own community, churches, teachers, and staff as the hero & not us.

Be a part of what’s next for Chembulet.

How School Lunches Are Changing Lives at Ulu Primary

In the heart of Ulu, Kenya, something extraordinary is happening. It’s not a new school building or a groundbreaking technology—it’s something much simpler, yet profoundly impactful. A hot meal.

Coming to school on an empty stomach made it difficult to focus, learn, and fully engage in their education.
