STORIES: Three Little Pigs

Our STORIES program is an excellent way to get involved in The 410 Bridge Education program in Kenya and Haiti. It’s also an amazing way to change a child’s Christmas this year. One of our goals with STORIES is to provide a way to help parents in Kenya and Haiti know how to talk about important things with their children. (A Biblical message is included with every book-See example below.) If you have questions or would like to send STORIES, please visit our website HERE. You can also download various media banners for your Facebook/Twitter pages and for your blog/website.

Three Little Pigs

If you could build your own house, which do you think would be best for you?  Would you build it out of straw, or sticks, or bricks?   Why do you think that?

Why do you think the first two pigs didn’t take their time and build their houses out of bricks?

If you said it was because they wanted to spend all their time just playing and dancing so they wouldn’t have to work, then you are absolutely right!  Sometimes it’s hard to work, or study, or even spend time getting to know God. It’s just more fun to do other stuff.

Do you know that God loves us and wants us to be safe? He knows that if we use our time wisely to do hard work or study, that our lives can be much better.  This is especially true if we spend our time listening to what He says and then doing it.

Jesus told a story that was very much like this one. Here is his story from Matthew 24.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Wise little boys and girls are like that third little pig. They work hard and study and obey God. There may not really be talking pigs and wolves that huff and puff, but there are lots of people who work and study and obey God and who become strong. And there are lots of people who don’t listen to God and don’t work hard and their lives come falling down.

Which one of those people do you want to be?
