monster-end-of-book

A lot of people are afraid of a lot of things. Some people are afraid of trying something new. Some are afraid of talking in front of a group of people. Some people are afraid of dying.

Name some things that you are afraid of, or some things that make you really nervous.  Does it make you nervous to be alone in the dark?  Have you ever heard noises at night when you were trying to sleep and you were afraid of what might be out there?

Many times we are just like the cute little blue furry creature in this book who was afraid of what he thought might be waiting for him at the end of the book.  We worry about things that really aren’t there.

The bible says in Phillipians  “Don’t worry about anything. Instead talk to God about everything.”  The writer of that verse knew that so many times when we worry, or get scared, we need to put our mind on something else.  And what better thing could we think about than our God who is watching over us and wants us to be at peace.

When we are scared of the dark or noises we think we hear, we usually find out that there was never anything to be afraid of at all. Just like there wasn’t a monster at the end of the book.  Talking to God and studying His word and learning to trust in Him can help us to be confident and not afraid. After all He is the God who created the whole world. And he wants you to know he didn’t create any monsters.

And one more thing…  If your life was a book, God is the one waiting for you at the end of your book with His arms open wide and a big smile on His face.
