Here are the most recent special needs sent over from our Kenya Country Director, Andrew Guuru…

From the community of Endana, Kenya:

Meet Baby Julius…

Baby Julius

Baby Julius was born on November 12th, 2009 and needs surgery to repair his cleft palate.

Amount Desired: $810

Baby Julius was born with a cleft palate and has Respiration Pneumonia and an eye problem. Height and weight seems appropriate and appears developmentally intact.

The Surgery for Julius is very important at this young age. The older he grows, the more the surgery becomes complicated. Hence this needs to be done right away. The Train Smile organization has offered to do the surgery for free but the travel and accommodation related costs has to be paid for. The shown cost is related to travel and other related expenses.

Meet Baby Patrick…

Baby Patrick

Baby Patrick Naukwet was born on June 2nd, 2009 and is also in need of cleft palate surgery.

Amount Desired: $810

Baby Patrick was born with a defect on his mouth; he feeds normally though but from time to time food spills out over the mouth because of the opening on the mouth.

From time to time because of the opening on the mouth it makes his stomach swell and he also vomits although not often. Baby Patrick also frequently catches colds.

Baby Patrick needs urgent help to fix his cleft palate at his young age. It becomes complicated to do it at a later age.
