Chembulet, Kenya
The landscape of Chembulet is beautiful with rolling fields of wheat and barley, situated in the Central Rift Valley near the border of Uganda. It’s perfect for families wanting to start, expand or optimize their farms. Farming allows families to grow food for themselves and hopefully enough to sell to the community.
Earlier this month, our Foundations for Farming program recently graduated their third class, since 2019, with 64 participants.
In the program, participants learn about farming “God’s way”, while also spending time in our practical sessions at our demonstration farm. There they learn about mulching or “God’s blanket” and diversifying their crops. Participants are able to work with 11 different crops that could be successful on their own farms – such as maize, beans, Irish potatoes and more.
Our team was able to interview Esther, who was a part of this graduating class. Take a few minutes to listen to this beautiful testimony.
We are so excited for Esther and the others who graduated! Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support that help to make this program successful for the participants and the community.
