Kenya Security Update

Late last night we learned, through a report from the BBC, of an incident at a nightclub in downtown Nairobi. We immediately reached out to our staff in Kenya and they contacted the CID (Criminal Investigation Dept.) to confirm the report.

This morning, an article in the Daily Nation reported that a grenade was lobbed into a nightclub in downtown Nairobi and 14 people were injured. The nightclub is a “low-level” venue and not someplace where Americans or westerners are known to congregate. The CID informed our Country Director that the motive of the attack was not known, but the article in the Daily Nation states that the police linked the attack to recent threats made by the Somali El Shabab insurgents.

One Day At Church

One day at church I felt a calling or a nudge that God wanted me to serve in a different way. I looked through my church’s opportunities and as soon as I saw Kenya I felt a wash of joy flood over me.
